BBNaija 11: Aikou, Flora face possible loss of Gambit status

Big Brother Naija Season 11 has introduced a new twist that could see Gambits Aikou and Flora return to the main competition following a viewers’ poll announced during Sunday’s live eviction show. Recall that Aikou and Flora were unveiled as this season’s “Gambits” in the second week of the reality show, with host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu revealing that they were no longer eligible to compete for the ₦160 million grand prize.

Instead, they remained in the house as Biggie’s agents, carrying out secret tasks and helping shape events behind the scenes. However, during Sunday’s live eviction show, Ebuka announced the “Operation Release the Gambit” twist, giving viewers the power to decide the fate of the two housemates. Viewers will vote on three options: release Aikou back into the game, release both Aikou and Flora into the game or release Flora into the game.

The outcome of the poll will determine whether Aikou, Flora or both housemates will regain eligibility to compete in the reality show. The development adds another layer of suspense to the Season 11 competition, with viewers now holding the power to determine whether the two Gambits return as full contestants. BBNaija Season 11, themed ‘Show Ya Sef’, premiered on July 26, 2026, with housemates competing for a grand prize of ₦160 million. Vanguard News

I was excluded from baby showers invite – Mo Bimpe

By Enitan Abdultawab Nollywood actress Mo Bimpe has opened up about the emotional pain she experienced during her fertility journey, revealing that she was deliberately excluded from social gatherings involving children because she had yet to become a mother. The actress shared the experience in an Instagram post after attending the first birthday celebration of Iyabo Ojo’s grandson, Rakeem.

Reflecting on how far she has come, Bimpe said the occasion brought back memories of a difficult period in her life. According to her, she stopped receiving invitations to baby showers, naming ceremonies and children’s birthday parties, with some people she knew personally intentionally leaving her out because she did not have children.

She said, “There was a time when I wasn’t invited to baby showers, naming ceremonies, children’s birthdays, or anything related to kids. Sometimes, these were people I knew personally. “People I laughed with, worked with, and genuinely cared about. I remember wondering what I had done wrong.

Later, I found out that some people intentionally left me out because I didn’t have children.” Bimpe described the experience as deeply painful, stressing that her struggle to conceive was already difficult without having to deal with rejection from people close to her. “At the time, it hurt deeply. Not because I wanted pity, but because I loved children. I wanted to celebrate with people. I wanted to share in their joy,” she said.

The actress added that the fertility journey came with its own emotional challenges, including questions, insults, waiting and silent prayers. “What many people don’t realise is that struggling to conceive is already hard enough. The waiting is hard. The questions are hard. The insults are hard. The silent prayers are hard,” she said. Now a mother of triplets, Bimpe urged people to be more compassionate towards women

Jury hears closing arguments in Tupac Shakur murder trial

A jury heard closing arguments on Monday in the trial of a former Los Angeles gang leader accused of involvement in the sensational murder three decades ago of chart-topping rapper Tupac Shakur. Duane “Keffe D” Davis, 63, a one-time leader of the South Side Compton Crips, is accused of ordering the September 7, 1986 killing after his nephew had been beaten by members of Shakur’s entourage in Las Vegas.

“Duane Davis, in the culture of gangs, could not let that stand,” prosecutor Binu Palal said. “So what did he do? He acquired a firearm, got his group together, and went hunting for Mr Shakur.” Palal was the first to address his closing arguments to the jury in a Las Vegas courtroom and will be followed by Michael Sanft, the defense attorney for Davis.

Shakur, who was in Las Vegas for a Mike Tyson fight, was shot about two hours after the confrontation by a gunman in a white Cadillac that pulled up at a red light alongside the BMW in which the rapper was riding in the front passenger seat.

According to prosecutors, Davis handed the gun to someone sitting in the back seat of the Cadillac and ordered that person to shoot Shakur, who died six days later. The driver of the BMW, Death Row Records co-founder Marion “Suge” Knight, was wounded. The killing of Shakur, also known as 2Pac, has been one of America’s most celebrated cold cases, prompting endless debate among music fans over who did it and why.

Davis, whose Crips were one of a patchwork of gangs that ran parts of Los Angeles in the 1990s, is the only person to have been charged in connection with the shooting of Shakur. Davis has repeatedly boasted over the years of involvement in Shakur’s murder — in

BBNaija S11: Abi wins Head of House again after tough challenge

Abi has emerged as the new Head of House in the ongoing Big Brother Naija Season 11 after defeating her fellow housemates in a series of challenging games. The housemates faced several tasks, including the fan-the-fishes game and other physical and mental challenges, before Abi and Gerard advanced to the final round.

The final contest saw both housemates battle it out in a Sudoku game, with Abi completing the challenge ahead of Gerard to claim the Head of House title. The victory marks another HoH triumph for Abi, who has continued to prove her strength in the season’s leadership challenges. This week’s HoH arrangement comes with a few changes, as the winner will have no veto power and no lucky dip will be required.

Instead, the housemate who won Monday’s challenge will be the first to use the HoH lounge this season. Abi will also be allowed to participate in next week’s Head of House challenge, giving her an opportunity to defend her title and potentially secure the position again. Her latest victory comes as the housemates continue their race for the grand prize under the season’s “Show Ya Self” theme. Vanguard News

BBNaija: Aikou, Flora released from Gambit roles, eligible to win N160m

Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 11 housemates Aikou and Flora have been stripped of their roles as gambits and are now eligible to compete for the ₦160 million prize. “Flora and Aikou are officially out of Gambit mode. Biggie has reinstated them as full #BBNaija housemates, making them eligible to compete for the prize money,” organisers announced via social media Monday. The two housemates could now face eviction if nominated.

“If nominated, their fate now rests with the voting public,” organisers said. Host of the Sunday eviction show, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, announced the “Operation Release the Gambit” twist, handing viewers the power to decide whether one or both housemates should be reinstated into the main competition. “Big Brother has one more twist for you tonight. Operation Release the Gambit begins immediately after the live show.

The polls will open, and you will decide whether to release one or both of the Gambits, giving them the opportunity to play for the prize. The power is in your hands,” he said. Aikou and Flora became the first Gambits of the season after viewers voted them into the special positions. Flora emerged as the female Gambit with 29.38 per cent of the votes, while Aikou secured the male position with 9.10 per cent.

Their selection guaranteed them places in the house until the grand finale but meant they were ineligible to compete for the ₦160 million grand prize.

  • Why African Film and Television Are Winning New Audiences

A fresh look at entertainment, creators and the changing culture around film, television and digital media.

    Why this matters

Why African Film and Television Are Winning New Audiences is not just a headline. It is a useful lens for thinking about the choices, habits and conversations that shape everyday life. At Regia Radio, we want our stories to be informative without becoming cold, thoughtful without becoming heavy, and hopeful without ignoring reality.

There is rarely one perfect formula. Context matters, people matter, and good decisions usually begin with paying attention. That is why this feature focuses on practical perspective: what we can notice, what we can learn, and what we can carry into the next conversation.

    Keep the conversation going

Regia Radio brings together faith, culture, music, news, technology, lifestyle and meaningful conversations. Explore more stories across the site, watch Regia TV, or keep the radio player running while you browse.

    Looking beyond the headline

Creative culture is constantly moving between music, film, fashion, language, technology and the stories people tell about themselves. Looking beyond the moment helps us see the people, ideas and communities shaping the trend. That is the perspective behind “Why African Film and Television Are Winning New Audiences”. The goal is not to turn one idea into a rule for everybody, but to notice the principles that can travel across different situations.

It also helps to ask what the conversation leaves out. Headlines naturally compress complex subjects. Real life contains trade-offs, timing, relationships, local realities and personal responsibilities that rarely fit into one sentence. A richer view makes room for those details and gives readers something practical to think about after the first impression has passed.

    Questions worth carrying with you

What part of this subject affects everyday choices? Which assumptions deserve another look? Is there a habit, conversation or decision that could be handled with more intention? These questions keep a story useful even after the initial moment of interest has faded.

For Regia Radio, thoughtful media should leave people better informed and more able to engage with the world around them. That means combining curiosity with responsibility: checking context, listening to different experiences and resisting the urge to reduce people or issues to a single easy explanation.

    A practical next step

Take one idea from this story and connect it to something concrete. It could be a conversation to have, a question to research, a habit to reconsider, a person to encourage or simply a decision to pay closer attention before reacting. Small actions are often where useful information becomes meaningful.
